Argentine Court Freezes Assets Linked to President Milei’s LIBRA Token Scandal
An Argentine judge has ordered a freeze on assets tied to the LIBRA memecoin scandal involving President Milei. Federal Judge Marcelo Giorgi issued a "prohibition of innovation" on properties and financial assets belonging to Hayden Davis and two crypto operators—Orlando Mellino of Argentina and Favio Rodriguez of Colombia. Their crypto wallets are under scrutiny for suspicious activity.
Prosecutor Eduardo Taino requested the measure, backed by a technical report from Argentina’s financial crime units. The report, signed by Maria Bergalli and Maria Chena, alleges fraud costing investors between $100 million and $120 million. The freeze aims to preserve assets potentially tied to the scheme.
